How we rate and review
The current score is a calculation over app-feed fields. This page explains the formula and, equally importantly, what the score does not prove.
The formula
What the Sherpa Score blends
The score out of 10 blends three things — and nothing else:
- Editor rating (50%). Overall operator quality: licence strength, game range, payments, support and track record.
- Bonus value (35%). Computed from the real turnover needed to clear the welcome bonus. Lower real cost ranks higher; a trap bonus drops the operator regardless of headline size.
- Payout speed (15%). How fast you can actually withdraw, by published speed band. A brand whose record carries no published band scores zero on this component.
The score is a catalogue signal, not an independent audit: it depends on the quality and freshness of its source fields.
What we check
What the current calculation uses
- Editor rating. A feed field used by the formula. It is not presented as a regulator rating or a hands-on test result.
- Bonus inputs. Structured offer fields used to calculate turnover when a wagering base and multiplier are available. Live terms still govern.
- Payout band. A feed category used by the formula. It is not a payment-time guarantee for an individual withdrawal. 'Not disclosed' means the feed carries no band; the formula gives it no payout credit rather than assuming a speed.
Accuracy
Evidence status and update dates
Guide pages show their authoritative sources and access dates. Commercial listing values come from the site's configured feed and have not been independently re-verified operator by operator in this editorial pass. A listing date is a data-freshness marker, not proof of hands-on testing, regulator approval or a guaranteed live offer.
Readers should confirm the legal operator and domain in the regulator's own current register, such as the UK Gambling Commission public register. For gambling-harm support, use our responsible gambling page and the local services linked there.
Byline status
The CasinoSherpa editorial desk
Guides publish under the CasinoSherpa editorial desk, an Organization byline. No individual expert or human specialist is currently named as reviewer.
Tools and review status
How we use AI
Tools may assist with drafting, structure and calculations. The updated guides expose the sources used so readers can inspect the evidence. We do not claim a named human or specialist review unless that real reviewer is explicitly shown in the byline.
